Yesterday we went into our local town as there was a Fiery Food Market on, i wanted to have a look as there were cooking demonstrations as well as lots of lovely food on sale. Our local town has gorgeous old buildings but to be honest its a bit of a dive, the shops are mostly pound shops(handy but not great for a local shopping fix), i only moved here last year so there are parts i've never seen. Yesterday Phil took me down a lovely old arcade which had some gorgeous antique jewellery shops and a proper sweetie shop, sadly half the shops were empty and in a pretty sorry state, its sad to see small towns like this.
The food market was really good and there lots of fantastic local businesses there selling their wares.
The cake stall was fantastic selling beautiful and unusual cakes(courgette and lime, beetroot and chocolate) but my personal favourite was the stall being run by an italian restaurant. Phil got some marinated chicken drumsticks and a banana and chocolate brownie and i went for some homemade chocolate biscuits.
I'm often found mumbling to myself about the lack of jumble sales and the like close to me. When i see all the amazing things that Vix nabs herself, i get the urge to rummage and our local charity shops are generally full of primark rather then anything interesting so i tend to use them more for books then anything else. So you can imagine my excitement when we spied a huge jumble sale outside a church in town. It was quite late in the day so there wasn't lots to rummage through but i managed to get a few bits.
I got 5 pairs of stockings/tights, i was so excited when i saw these. I might use some in as part of my upcoming giveaway.
I also picked up this leather bag for £1, i like the colour and shape of it, no idea where its from.
I couldn't resist the book stall either, and came away with these 4 to keep me going.
Throw in a pub lunch and the 3 of us had a lovely day.
